A little dogwood
« on: July 01, 2011, 02:16:43 PM »
Just made these today. Mitchell thinks this is the best looking yelper yet. Thing sounds good anyhow. The mouthpiece is acrylic with an elk antler ferule. The pot call is anodized aluminum over glass

Mike,
Couldnt tell ya if it was a white or pink, someone gave me the tree when it died. BUt it is a beautiful wood when you can get it to work right. Dogwood checks faster and deeper than any other wood I have worked with. It may take me three pieces to get one call.

Our white dogwood around here is whiter and the pink.. well looks like that :)

I hear you on the checking...  Plus the trees here never really get big enough to make anything out of them!

That is some gorgeous wood and you did it some major justice!
