First Friction call

I was asked to move this here, so here ya go.

This is my First friction call. It is made from Sepele, Maple Sound Board, Obsidian Inlay, Acrylic Striking Surface, Sounds Terrible.

Did a Lil Wood Burning to the soundboard, and to the back of the call.

Call is 10 1/2" Tall x 1 3/4"thick, 1/4" walls and the soundboard is only 1/2" thick, the Acrylic striking surface is 3/32 like most use, clean glue line, cant even tell it is there in the pic.

 I have tried every striker I have, still sounds terrible, Back to the drawing board, mebe, Slate is the answer.

The call is nice looking Jeff I like the wood burning keep working on the sounnd till you get it right.

Well you know me....LOVE the wood burning...gota ask though, did you really mean the call is 10 1/2" tall?  Man that would be a ball & chain draggin through the woods

Yep, 10 1/2". It has small hanger dealy that I will put on the back to hang it, or could make a pedastal for it that would hold a BIG striker I will probably make from sepele as well and burn it a bit, just someting different.

Had a Big wide piece of sepele, and I was just looking at it, 5 days or so later, this is what I came up with, thought it may look nice in a Man Cave/Den, just hanging on the wall of turkey hunter 10-4.

I burned a few feathers and such on a piece of scrap, then went to burning this, it is a first for me, something I have been wanting ta-do fer a while.

Has a Blo n Lemon oil/carnuba wax finish,not much, just enough to bring out the grain nicely in the sepele that has a nice wave/sheen when turned and has a warm look to it, fun lil project, hope you all like it, and thanks for the words.

You know that wpuld look pretty cool over a tail fan mount.. like the art....
