Still feel the pain!

It has been about 1 year since I had to put my Lab down, that I had for over 14 years. I still miss her very much. I just hope that one day I might see her again. She meant so much to me. I'll never forget her. I thank the Lord for her time with me. So the next time you look at your pets, remember, they will be  gone before you know it!  Gary  *prayer* *prayer*

Gary i feel your pain .....the 9th was 2 yrs since my american bulldog Haley passed....it was real tuff on my dad still....

I still grieve my English Bulldog Mikey every day...Can you tell by my name how much I loved that dog?

Gary, I know the pain you feel. I lost my 14 year old boxer two weeks ago. I still look for her when I get home from work, just does not seem right!

Some people just don't understand the bond that we share with our pets.  They're more than just animals they're apart of our lives and families.  I look into Bella"s big brown eyes and know some day I will miss her very much.  But God willing not for a very long time.  *prayer* *prayer*

I lost Traveller Feb 27, 2010. She was three days short of her 11th birthday. The pain subsides somewhat, and now I smile when I think of her. She absolutely HATED a goose, and would sit in the blind and growl until I would shoot the bird and she could go get it. Her first retrieve was made at 10 months of age, and great blind retrieve on my first ever duck. On a dove field, she was the worst critic of my shooting. I swear that dog would turn and look at me like I was the biggest moron on the earth for missing a simple pass shot at 20yds. Every night she slept between my legs. She went to baseballs games with me to watch my son, she met me at the door every day when I got home from work. I still remember the day I picked her up and all of the joys and hardships we shared together. That was 12+ years ago, but the memories are as strong as ever.

I understand your feelings completely.....

     I lost my 12 Y/O golden a few years ago.....There is still an emptyness there... The bond was incredible. :-\

I know your pain Gary.  I lost my 14 yr. old cocker, Sugar, a couple of years ago.  I still miss grabing a vanilla wafer and sailing it the 15 ft. across the room, and her making that catch every time till her eyes failed.  Loved that dog.

Gary...as I read your post and everyone elses it brings tears to my eyes and I am 53 years old.. I think of two collies I had when I was youg laddie and tinker ..tinker got run over as I was to small to hold him and he got away from me... Then a family dog buttons {terrier poodle cross} the day that dog passed .. all of a sudden he got up and went to every room and person in the house and went behind the couch and passed...I think he knew and he said goodbye in his way to everyone..Then my dog jake {lab crossed with?} he was very special to me. Two English setter bird dogs chip and spot... great pheasant dogs... One collie Sam he developed severe epilepsy seizures when he was 3 and had to be put down... and now I have my 5 1/2 year old boxer {bailey}  man I dread the day!  So I really feel everyones pain cause I have been down that road many times... god bless our dogs..  I think the bond makes us better people..... Jim
