The outer dimension of the curved soundboard box on Chuck's call is about 3/8" narrower than the Marlin Kwila over Butternut longbox I compared it to. The soundboard is curved like Marlin's but when you hold the two in your hand the difference is very obvious from their size. Chuck told me before that is one of the reasons his longboxes sound so good. They are not real wide like a lot of longboxes. I forgot the exact inside dimension he told me but I have seen longboxes that are twice as wide as his inside. There is no need to cant the lid or hold Chuck's any certain way. Just stroke the lid across the box and you get that two or actually three note yelp that ends in some nasty rasp.
