Tim I have had several people say that is their favorite combo far and away!

Looking for advice . A twister knocked down a big willow at the old home place . Is the best wood for building a call in the trunk or would a 14-16 inch limb be suffice ? The trunk is roughly 30-36 inches in diameter .

Would anyone recommend willow for a longbox or a scratchbox ? I have very little knowledge of woods and even less in building a box or scratcher . I would however like to make one of each for myself . Any advice will be greatly appreciated .

The trunk usually always has the best, tightest, straight grained material. The limbs are mostly reaction wood which tend to twist and crack. The big 14"-16" limbs might be OK.
I'm not sure about a long box, (I haven't used enough of it), but I know it makes a good scratcher.

Very nice looking call and as others have stated, "a unique checkering pattern" that is different and appealing!
