After visiting Kansas I am thinking about going up there this fall for a few days. I was told their limit is 4 birds in the fall and they do not count against your spring tags. When this turkey bug bites it really gets a hold on you.

right now keekee is in summer weight. she is happy on the couch out of this heat. the puppy "cutter" would be up for it. she is so full of herself it is hard to be around her. i used to think i had some fast shorthairs on the farm but this dog can take off and cross a half mile wheat field and be back by your side in what seems like seconds. really looking forward to hunting her this fall.  sooner

Rickey that is correct in the zone by MO.  I'm thinking the same.  If I remember right, 4 tags (since we already have our license) is like $90...  I may be wrong, but I believe that is right.  Also, there is more WIHA in the fall for turkeys!!!

i wish you could have seen the "i'm going to teach cutter to swim" episode this past weekend. my big gut has several toe nail marks as decorations right now. i think cathy bathed them too much as puppies because she does not like the water. keekee swims like a lab so i thought the jealousy factor may overcome cutter's dislike for water but not so. i took both and two retrieving dummies to the pond. keekee immediately took to the water with hers and cutter grapped hers and did laps around the house. i took cutters and threw it out in the pond where she could wade to it then kept throwing it a little further out. all this did was make her stand in knee deep water and bark at the dummy and at keekee. i went in the water so then she barked at both of us. i got hold of her "belly decorations to prove it" and carried her out 10 yards. she swims to shore and barks at us some more. a few more belly decorations and we still do not like water but were getting closer. i knew i had this problem when she was a puppy so used to take her to the little spring creek and walk her up and down the gorge. i swear she could cross the spring creek without getting her feet wet. anyway i'm glad we do not have pictures of this process. sooner
