question on strykers?

I know differant woods sound differant, I've been playing with many differant ones.  I've looked at alot of custom strykers, and everyone has their own spin on them, and they all look great, and I'm sure they sound as good too.  My question is, how does length effect the strykers sound? or for that matter, diameter?  or Handle size?   Myself, I make all my handles at 3 inch's.  Pegs are all 6 inch, 5/16 dowels, that are glued into the handle about an inch and 1/2.

 I don't make calls or strikers, but weight (I've been told) has some bearing on sound, as well as wood density.

have any of you tried Acrylic?  I've made some out of 3/8, and they really make the ceramic calls sing.

It depends on how you want it to sound. Heavy will typically be deeper and raspier where a lighter striker will be higher pitched and crisper.

I understand all that, ..to say "... the type of wood, the density, the diameter, the weight, the balance, the tip style, the length all effect how a striker sounds." is a general statement that is informative, and broad, but not very specific.
.I am interested in what others have found in their experiences, such as "Heavy will typically be deeper and raspier where a lighter striker will be higher pitched and crisper." or if they have found larger diameter to be deeper, or longer overall length is higher pitched, etc. etc.  that sort of thing.  Like I said in my first post, I'm a beginner at this, and was trying to understand the dynamics a bit, what others may have figured out.
If I am asking something that is concidered taboo to ask, it won't hurt my feelings to tell me not to ask these kind of questions here.  Thanks.

There are few woods that are consistient in their sound. Paduk is, usually, Kinwod is and plays a good slightly raspy tone, and hickory is usually a good all around striker that is consistient that I like the medium tone with some rasp. My favorite is Kinwood but as domestics go I still like a good ole Persimmon. Consistient, medium pitch, good rasp with not too much. My 2 cents worth.

Density is the key in my book, dense woods equal volume. There are many things that affect the striker and those have already been pointed out. Numbers is the key. Daryl will attest I will run every striker on the table.  I run multiple strikers on a call to find the best. That striker must be able to do everything on a call from low purrs to high kee kee's. This is the volume aspect if that striker want get everything out of a call put it to the side and keep searching. Loud and proud to soft and nasty a striker must have it all!!!!!!!
