My first post got me thinking and looking, and sure enough, I got a pic of my first ever call.  Post up pics of your first ever call ya made, if ya have one that is.

Here are the first 3 calls I made.  The first one is in a case I made out of a 1/2 sawn white birch log.  You close it up and it looks like a piece of wood.  The last is a trumpet I made with some tenon cutters I use to make log furniture.  The brown on the edge is actually the bark of the hickory branch I used. I think these were made around 2001.

I don't remember if these were the first, but they are certainly in the first half dozen.

These are #1 and #2....#1 didn't sound too sparky, but #2 actually sounded pretty good. Took it to the woods on the opening of the season that year, on the youth hunt. Called this bird in for a good friend of mines son. It was his first bird, on the first morning one of my calls hit the woods....We got set up in a good spot, and it was over 5 minutes after flydown. 4 longbeards came in, and he dropped this one at 15 yards....It was a good morning.

Here's my first, an Amboyna Burl slate call. No lathe work, just a drill press and dremel.

Double glass in a flower pot saucer 1980, and a two piece wingbone from a fall hen I killed 1992.  Friend has the round, call I have the wingbone.

The two peice wingbone with the lanyard and carved mushrooms was my first turkey caller I made. The musrooms were made by Larry Gresser.

Dont' have any pics of real early calls / the first call. It was a poplar glued up body with a cherry lid tho.   Basically a glued up simple hunting call.  I did find a few pics of early calls tho. Once I finally got a little more serious about call building I started trying to keep better track of things.
You guys are way to serious. Here is a call a I knocked together while waiting on a hunting buddy early one morning.  20 minutes work tops.  *peep* I wrote on it "The ugly box...first box to kill with sight AND sound" *lol* 1997 I think it says.

Here is another batch of calls from mid-late '90's maybe.
