I don't know if you noticed, but that video was made in San Francisco.  They have a bit of a "gender identity" problem out there. *lol*   That's pretty cool.

I was watching a show once that showed a hen gobbling.  Seen one strut a few years ago, but never heard them gobble (that I know of) personally...

Awesome to be able to see such a rarity let alone catch it on film.  *cool*

Many years ago , I killed a bearded hen after watching her strut and gobble at 5 paces for ten minutes or more . It was a show of dominance that only the most aggressive hens will display . There is nothing physically different between the males and females to prevent them from gobbling but you won't witness it very often .

I've seen and heard a hen gobble -- repeatedly.

It turned out all the members of her flock had been trapped and carted off by the DNR. She alone escaped. It appeared she was doing what she knew would attract other turkeys.

Poor thing followed me to every set up I made all around that 650 acre property.

It was a weird sound -- not like a gobbler. More of an "Obble, obble, obble" sound without a lot of force or authority.

Yeah, they do gobble -- but you couldn't really mistake it for a grown gobbler.

I just found this thread and thought I'd throw in my $.02 .

I've seen the Primos video from out west where it shows the strutting and gobbling hen along with a whole herd of Mirriams .
I recall thinking at the time I saw that video , how neat that would be to actually witness such a rare event .

I took a break from Public Land hunting one morning to try and work a bird on a 160 acre piece of private . It borders on Brush Creek and has quite a few turkeys . The woods was wet and the wind was calm . Several ridges parallel each other and each drops off sharply just short of the creek . Each ridge has a fourwheeler trail on its top . I was slipping into the woods on one of the trails . Upon reaching a good set up I made some calls . It's been too long too recall exactly what calls I made , but not too long to remember the deep raspy yelps I got in responce . I would have bet anyone it was a jake coming , simply judging by the coarse yelps . The bird cut across a shallow holler and came into view at 25 yards . Biggest da'gum hen I ever saw . She stood out there yawkin' it up as I stood still and quiet . After some time and I was satisfied there was no tag-a-long gobbler I began giving her a sound thrashing on a mouthcall . She went crazy . She started right toward me and we were cutting and clucking and yelping on top of each other . She got to about 10 yards and began to circle but didn't let up on the yelling. She moved behind a bunch of brush and vines so I took this opportunity to turn on my heel 180 degrees to keep an eye on her . When she was behind that brush and I was in motion getting turned I heard the wierdest sound . It had the cadence of a gobble but the tone was way off . I spun back around expecting to see a running gobbler . Nothing ! The hen saw my movement and retraced her steps just like she came in .
I was so puzzled at the goofy sound I just simply didn't know what to think . I convinced myself there was a gobbler nearby and he possibly had some ailment or injury that made him sound that way .
I swung wide around the holler where the hen headed for and hit the call again . I knew it was her when she yelped back by her jake like yelps . I tried to make her mad again and all I got was another one of those wierd gobbles . I couldn't see anything .
Finally time expired and I left the woods . I returned the following friday to the same spot where the hen and I had our arguement . I made some soft clucks . I received some clucks in responce . Then I see the big girl coming striaght toward my tree . She was feeding as she came and clucked often too . I continued to cluck till she was about 35 yards or so .  When I went silent she began scanning the area ,,,still clucking . I kept checking her back trail as well as all the woods I could see for a gobbler . She crossed the fourwheeler path right in front of me and stepped up on a log . She marched to the far end of the log and stretched her neck out and made the wierd gobble I heard alost a week before . I remained silent and she gobbled again . She stood around there quite a while looking for the ''CLUCKER''.
I just sat still and quiet as she left clucking low as she steadily walked off . I let her get out of sight and I moved about ten yards and started clucking again . Here she comes right back to me . She never gobbled again but did stand about ten feet behind me making some really slow , raspy purrs .
Never did kill a tom over there , but those two episodes with that OLD HEN was as good as killin' a gobbler in my book .

 Did I spend more than $.02 ?

I had a hen gobble many times in New York one spring. She kept coming right up to us, and would stand there gobbling in our faces time and time again, then would wander off lost yelping. As soon as I called, here she would come again and repeat the performance. I think I called her in to about 20 yards 5 or 6 times in a little over an hour, and I'll bet she gobbled well over a hundred times in total. At one point I leaned over and whispered to the kid I was hunting with, "there aren't a dozen people in America who have ever heard a hen gobble, so you're very lucky." Neither one of us ever did realize that our cell phones had movie capabilities! There was also a real tom gobbling back behind her a couple hundred yards, and he eventually came close enough that I killed him. He was a good'un, too...with spurs of 1-3/8 inches. Trevor (the kid) had already killed his bird earlier in the morning, so it was a very memorable day for us both!
