And the drama continues...
« on: May 19, 2011, 03:21:48 AM »
Well just rolled in from work.  Been there since 6:30 yesterday morning and just left at 3.  3.5 hours away from working 24 hours...  What should have been a 5 minute item, ended up taking @ 8 hours and we just rolled back to the old gear.

I am not very happy...

Some more bad news today too.  My truck is blowing gear lube out of the passenger side axle.  I had the axle joints replaced and just "assumed" they had replaced the axle seals with the axles out..... yeah big WRONG...

Called the shop today and they want to charge me to pull the axles and do that now.  I said, I'm not very mechanical, but even I know you should change the seals.

Think most of my bad luck might have been due to the shop.. so I'm off to another shop.  Hopefully I'll get a lot better service and quality of work this time!

Porter,

Pull the bill out from the axle joint replacement and see, if the axle seals are on the bill......If not you have a leg to stand to fight against paying for the labor and new seals.....They should have been replaced w/ new axle joints. PERIOD!!

Call your local Dodge dealership and ask there service Dept. how they handle replacing axles.....

             Good luck, Zumer

Good Luck. These local shops do just about anything they please without having to answer to anyone. Had a round with a local shop here about a leaking timing cover that was installed on a new engine. *cry*

Zumer done did that... Labor and Misc... is what it says...  Problem is it will cost me more to fight than getting it done right will run me.  Getting a bid from another shop that was highly recommended.

We will see...  If not for some bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck right now.  Trying to get the truck fixed to go to Kansas over Memorial Day weekend!

My shop knows to lists the parts used,  plus the cost on my bill.............. >!!
