Twisted Tactics
« on: May 18, 2011, 12:46:31 PM »
I went the season without a bird this year and semi blew two chances besides letting a strutting/gobbling jake get by at 5 steps. Yes the middle tail feathers were taller so it wasn't beard rot.

Anyway, when I cleaned out my vest and reloaded it with calls I decided to put in all pot ,scratch and box calls that I did not use this year. I'll give it two weeks next spring and see if this makes any difference.
After having so many good seasons I chalk this one up as in the top two of all time WORST ever. This was all around us this year. Not superstitious but this sounds insane to start figuring out a year ahead how you are gonna really fool em next year.  ::) I may even try parking my truck backwards to make em think I'm leaving. Yeah right.
Nice looking site here and a great atmosphere to fly up and spend the evening.

I needed that laugh..  I'm with you.  One of the worst seasons I've had.  I had about given up when I finally smoked one.

I know a lot of people in MO that didn't get one this year  :-\

I may even try parking my truck backwards to make em think I'm leaving.

Tried that. It didn't work. Sorriest year for me as well. Seems as though people either had a pretty good year or a real sorry one.

Daryl finally call you one up Porter? ;D

Oh my... it is getting deep in here...  Daryl to Porter... I think they are too far... Porter to Daryl... I'm pretty sure they are in range...  Porter doesn't shoot.. .goes home patterns gun at range... sends pic to Daryl and Daryl goes... guess that would have been a dead bird.

I think he forgets, I shoot better than him  *lol* *lol*
