SBEII and Fed HW 7's

I had a few minutes to shoot Saturday and took my 2 Benelli's out to see how the Federal Heavy Weight 7's performed with a Hevishot dead coyote non ported tube I had.  I bought it for possibly duck hunting with it, foundout later that it was a .665 inner diameter and didnt shoot duck loads worth a crud.

So, with the Fed 3.5" 1 7/8oz flitecontrol 7's...1st shot was 127, then I banged off 3 Fed dove loads to really dirty the barrel and thenshot another HW 7.  I got a 146 in the 10. I know I know...there are guys shooting over 200. I am too, but this is a good back up combo for me to have around.  When I get the chance, I will shoot a few moredove loads and try it again to see if it improves in pellet count or not.

I would take that 146 over 200 Hevi 7s, 8s, and 9s

I cant...its a fixed choke.

When I bought it, I thought it wood be good for #3's or 4's...since it shoots T Hevi deadcoyote loads.  Has anyone ever shot the Carlsons deadcoyote tube witht he deadcoyote hevishot? I cant see it patterning very well since its a .665

Ihear ya, but I was hoping for more in the 160-180 ange from this combo.

Are those 12 gauge loads really doing that bad?  I'm getting that in a 20 gauge with an 18.5 " barrel out of those loads.   

Have you shot any other loads out of this gun?

Porter...yeah I have shot the Hevi13Magblends and they shot a lot better,and thats with a IC.665

Only reason I shot this combo,unported tube, and I bought these Fed HW 7's almost half off over a year ago and thought to give it a whirl.

I need to really clean the barrel, then shoot it again. But I reckon I will have to shoot several cheap dove loads to dirty it up some and see if it improves.

My Ithaca 20 with the Hevi 7 duck loads shoot this good also...and thats what I hunt with mostly.

I didn't think it was the gun, but the 12's I've seen shooting the Fed HW... just haven't done real good.  I just do not understand why not.  It's funny that the 20's seem to be outshooting the 12's with these shells.  I know the wad is completely different, but you'd think Federal would change the 12 to one like the 20.

Sloppy n KnightHawk , I believe it was them 2 fellars thought, that the 20 does better due to it being a stiffer wad because its a smaller diameter. thus its easier to get it to shoot better. They said to get the best patterns, it must be choked seriously tight to keep the petals from opening up.

Its deff not my go to gun, but if a friend needs to borrow a gun, or I need it in a pinch, I will use it.

The payloads in the 12 g loads are a freiken shame.. Uggh yeah we are going to offer the largest payloads commercially loaded in the 20, but we are going to offer the smallest payload we can in the 12 with the heaviest shot.. Seriously?

After season this year I was very pleased with the performance of the HW.. I had a friend buy a 3 inch 870 12g.. He was asking if he should buy HW seeings that I was pleased.. I had to answer no, dont even know where to start..
