Went back this morning after three birds we encountered last two days that would not fly down..First time out they roosted 500 yds from where we got on them to start with..Gave up at 10:00 with them still in the trees yesterday.Went back and they were in the same trees this morning hammering away again. Set up on them in same spot and called with same results, gobbles but not flying down...After two more hours of callin, gobbling and waiting I finally decided to try something drastic.Told my buddy what I was gonna do and he said go for it..really didn't wanna get loud with anything but here it goes...pulled out the box and did a cut and flydown cackle slapping my cap on my leg...almost immediately heard wings flapping and two birds changed trees getting closer to us..Bingo they were looking for us hard now and this one tree hopped right over in front of my buddy and he dropped him at 35 yds...and as you can see another dang double beard..This season has been unreal for beards for us.Other two birds never even flew off after the shot but I'm gonna go back after #3 for me now that we know their weakness... 11 1/4' and 7" beards..spurs only an inch..
