Boys, let me tell ya, what a day! Me and my little guy, Matt, went out today in the pouring rain! What were we thinking??? It has been raining all night and it was flat out nasty in the mountain! We got out of the truck at 6:00 and walked down into the holler, to my listening tree. It started breaking light, we didn't hear a thing, so I hit the crow call, again nothing! I told Matt it was gonna be a tough day to hunt, but he wanted to kill a gobbler. So we headed up the mountain, to a bench where the birds hang out. we were there for a couple minutes and the sky got black, so I suggested we get back to the truck, quick! On the way down the mountain, we stopped at the head of the holler and I called a couple times with one of my wingbone calls. We turned to get on the logging road and there he was!! We all just looked at each other, the turkey, me and Matt! I whispered to Matt, get the gun up and crush him, he was only 20 yards! He pulled up and "BOOM", Matt had his first turkey ever!! This is a goodun! I don't have a scale, but I'd say 20 lbs. easy, 10 1/8 inch beard, one spur is 3/4 broken, the other is 1 1/8 long! WHAT A BIRD!! After a bunch of high fives and fist pounding we grabbed him and went to the truck! Matt is tickled to death, but I thought I was gonna have a heart attack!! He kept telling me," Settle down Dad". What a feeling, I can't explain! Matt said, " I think I'm addicted, Dad! I am as proud as I can be!

As soon as I find somebody to post the pics, they will be on here for everyone to see!!
