« on: April 05, 2011, 11:25:22 AM »
i've got my gun sighted in with hv13 3" 2Oz. 6. I bought a couples of  hevi 13 3" 2 oz.  #7 shoot.  Do i need to re sight in my gun with the #7's or should they hit the same place as my 6's

Assuming everything is the same -- same choke, barrel lug tight, etc., is should be the same.  I use field loads to get a pattern / PoI correct before moving to the magnum loads.

Good luck!

If all things are equal such as velocity, etc... I'd expect point of impact should be the same.

Always re-sight your gun when you change ammo . Hopefully it will hit in the same place , but why take the chance . You don't want to find out with a miss on a hard -earned turkey ! Even if it is the same manufacturer , shot size/weight per pellet can make a difference in your pattern density . Therefore flight can be affected also . Throw some dollar bills downrange and just make sure . It will probably only take a couple shots to be sure .

I gotta say i totally agree with the above statement, I missed a big one last weekend, I realized I change ammo and that caused me to miss a big bird, thats my story and I am sticking to it! *lol*

Bruce,

Check it and remove all doubt........ for your piece of mind.... *cheers*

I went from Hevi 6's to 7's in both my Benelli's and had to change POA on both.......Slight, but still needed adjustments.

Then drop the hammer on em.....  *bannana*
