.....all i can add to it is that every year at nashville, i am ALL EARS, and listen very close to the so called "experts" (builders),...denny and i had a great conversation on the "authentic" sounds that are out there. I feel very fortunate to be able to spend as much time in the woods listening and recording the wild turkey, along with the ones here at the house,..also listening to what Denny and Brad are able to capture. Very few can match the true sound of the wild turkey,...MANY call in and kill turkeys. As much as we work at it and live with it,...we (I) still fall short of getting the perfect note. Box calls can be run in a variety of ways, so can pots, and so can suckers,...all turkeys sound different, yet they all sound the same (if that makes sense). However, somewhere along the way,..carving,painting,sculpting and lathe operating has taken precedent over sound. One thing i know for sure is that everyone tries their best at what they do, especially when they are in the public eye,...and helpful criticism is always good, but i think the only ones who can give us "true" criticism have feathers and they can't speak english.
