a antique salvaged poplar and walnut
« on: March 21, 2011, 10:15:51 AM »
Here is some wood I found I forgot I had-(Iknow Iset myself up for the age jokes) ---a guy was wanting a bald cyprus and I didnt have any---he asked about poplar---found this stuff I had stuffed in a box. It is very old growth salvaged poplar. Tight grain and has heart with some sapwood in it. This one has a whitish worm channel in the rear of the call that gives it even more color. The worm channel is not open---its filled solid white---never seen one that way ??  Great sounding call---a solid hunting call here  ---hard to beat Poplar anytime. Hope he like it---its headed out for a better home today !!!
