Leafy wear vs a ghillie

I'm torn between using my ghillie or a new set of leafy wear......

    I've never worn leafy wear before, but those that do speak very highly of it.....

   The ghillie just flat out works, but it's like wearing an oven.....

   I have the newer lite weight ghillies made from jute and the whole suit only weighs 3.5 lbs.  Love it.  Also, I use often the leafy suit by mossyoak called the difusion I think.  Love it too.  Leafy in the woods and bush and the ghillie for field gobblers that tend to be stuborn in places with little cover.

I like the light weight leafy suit myself, you can hardly even tell it's there! Very light and you won't be soaking wet with sweat when your done!

i have both and to be honest i wore the ghillie twice...it wasnt really hotter then the leafy but if you tend to do a good bit of walking it snags on everything...you could tote it in a pack but sometimes you dont have time to get set up before a bird is comin in...the ghillie probly wont come out the closet this yr unless i do some filming...just my 2 cents...

Z -- Like Denny Gulvas, I am trying the pin-on Sneaky Leaves this year.  Figured a ghillie suit would be hot and snag on everything, just like Craig said, and didn't want to stick a bunch of cash into a 3-D suit.

So I bought these:

Never wore them before, but they are cheap, you can pin them to your hat, shirt, vest and cargo pant pockets.  If they come off, who cares, take a few extra in the vest with me.  Should be enough to break up my outline for the early spring woods.

I like the leafy suit,so light when it gets warm.. I just put a pair of shorts on and the leafy pants over them....

 Leafy Wear down here, super lightweight - the Mossy Oak Diffusion stuff slips on over anything, quickly - hot or cold temps, go light or layer up under it; doesn't matter ...
... for early season bowhuntin' & for spring turkeys it's tough to beat in my book -  in the trees or on the ground, it definitely works ...

Let me give you a tip with those.  I have them also.  Sew them on and don't use the safety pins.  I went out and got stabbed and poked from those suckers opening up on me.  So I later just sat down and sewed them on.---Jason

I used a ghillie for a while and liked it.  It would really hide me but it got hung on everything in the woods.   I would come out of the woods 40lbs heavier than I went in.  I started using the MO diffusion and love it.  I just use the top.  It has such a big pocket on the front that I don't wear a vest anymore.

I have always been a fan of Leafy wear.  We do still get a few Hot days up here in PA and at least the leafy wear is mesh.
Denny Gulvas is the one who convinced me to purshase leafy wear years ago
As much filming as that family does in the spring and fall, I would have to listen to them.

They go as far as even buying extra leaves and hot gluing them on (craft stores) you can purchase both hot glue and leaves (spring and fall)
Do you have a Jo Ann crafts near you?
