Started the Louisiana youth weekend on Bear creek Hunt'n club in Southeast Louisiana this morning. With a little help from a good friend, Kade and I found ourselves on not one, but four HARD gobblin two year old's....
on whats known as Mason Bayou. We set up on the birds, which were already on the ground, by the time we got to them. They were gobbling at everything in the woods. The birds hung up just out of sight for what seemed like forever, and gobbling non stop. They finally broke and headed our way, and appeared to my right and out of view of Kade. while I was trying to get him in place for a shot.....I got busted.....
I grabed my call, cut and yelped real quick and all FOUR gobbled......just in front of us....
.....Yelp.... he's one lucky little fellow.....
The birds then appeared to the left of us and gave him a shot. I heard my 10 yr, old click off the safety and smoke a long beard at less than 30yds.....
Needless to say, I'm very proud of my son, and he can walk in the turkey woods with me, anytime, and anywhere... I am raising a turkey hunter.....
