To me they are just a different sound. They do not have the distinct rollover. I have one by Jerry White and now one by Lonnie Sneed and they both make sounds just like hens waking on the roost. Anyone who has turkey hunted much has heard these tree yelps early at first light. These sounds are hard for me to duplicate except with these small slates. I have made these subtle tree yelps, slapped the ground with my hat like a flydown, made a couple clucks and heard wings flapping on more than one occasion. I have had gobblers literally land right in my lap.
