Box Call Preference?

Similar to the post on strikers but I've had this conversation with fellow callmakers in the past.  I'm curious to get some more input and why.  Which do you prefer, a hewned one-piece box or a sawn and glued box call.

Hewn. No real reason just buy the calls I like. They happen to be hewn.

I have both and they both sound good, but IMO, I like hewn boxes better.

     I have glued and sawn calls & hewned out calls that turkeys respond to, very well....

Hewn, made by somebody else. *lol*
I broke my thumb cutting the pieces for a box call on a table saw.
I did call in a gobbler with that call but will let the experts make calls for me from now on. And most hew their calls.

I agree Mike. I have a World Champion that will never see the woods. It was dad's. Great sounding call.

I have a couple of sawn and glued box calls made by Gerald Howard who lives up the road a little ways from me. No telling how many turkeys this man has killed with his calls.

I used Lynch's when I first started turkey in 1974 until I made this one in 1987.  These are all I use.

I don't blame ya. If I'd called up and killed 35 turkeys with a particular box, I'd still be using it too.
