Dunnage for calls??
« on: February 25, 2011, 08:15:29 PM »
What do you fellas think?  I have seen a lot of different colors go out the door strapped to bundles, but this one had to be the nicest piece that I have seen in a while, No way would I make it into a turkey call, but it would be a sweet color for another type of call. Picture does not do it justice.

That may be a spray for bug control, see a lot of it blueish here in Fla.

If I made friction calls, I would try it.

It sure is Mike. We use a lot of poplar for dunnage and a lot of it looks like this. We find anything from purple to blue to brown and black. I see some it go out the door and just want to  *cry*.

Dunnage is cheap wood used under banding usually on a pallet for shipping, keeps the banding from cutting into the load. Price is right...might make a call  ;D

I have a couple of killer Honduras Mohogany strikers that I made out a pallet runner. I have pull several pallets apart to get the runners because they were walnut or mohogany or something other than popple or oak.
