18 Days!! We have 50 days to wait here. I haven't even been able to get out between the snowstorms to scout any new land yet. To busy makin calls. We had a bit of a thaw last week that kind of got my blood warmed up but just last night and today got another 16 inches of snow. Good thing I haven't put my snow shoes away yet.

Man, give it time...we have some turkey slaying machines on this board. One in particular has close to 150 on his wall and all were legal!

Me too , Dylan . Been after this ol' bird the last two years . Of course I give him a break from my calling from time to time . I hope he hasn't been turned into coyote poop , I'm anxious to see what I can do with him with the trumpet ,,,he ain't heard mine yet .
I'm wound up tight as fiddle strings . Got the first two weeks of season off on vacation . All I need is the tags.

get em Mark. I had one last year that came in and put a straight butt whooping on 3 gobblers. one guy tried shooting him from the road but my buddy caught him. I'd like to see if that ole mean turkey is still around.

Reminds me of a few years ago . The boys and I were headed toward the truck late in the morning . We hadn't worked a bird yet on that day . We got about 300 yards from the truck when this bird started gobbling hard and often . He was dead between us and the truck . I wanted one of the boys to kill him so we moved in perty close , him gobbling all the while . I did some calling and he just went nuts but would not come over the hump . I left the boys there and backed out and away calling as I went . I made it about 75 yards and just happened to look back to see the bird running hard ,,,the other direction . I returned to the boys and found out this older bird came running down the hill and chased the youngster away and then ran back up the hill. Time expired shortly afterwards with no chance to do anything but laugh at the show . I look at it as a time of learning more about those Wild Eastern Turkeys.

Had one I fooled with on several occasions. He didn't look to be very old, but he stayed in a pasture, usually all alone, and would never commit. He and five of his buddies were seen during deer season. Hope to get a crack at him on opening day.

I agree. The calls are nice to look at but there is very little hunting talk over here.
