Handcrafted Wing
« on: January 31, 2011, 06:43:46 PM »
I came home from work this evening and there was this large flat package on my porch covered in snow & ice. I knocked off what I could then brought it in the house and put it over a vent to melt the ice. After that was done I proceeded to "unwrap" this awesome gift. I'm sure glad I sharpened my knife because I think ole Mr Hay used half a roll of duct tape on this thing  ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO

Thank you Mark for this sweet addition to my tricks in the woods!!!! I can't wait to give her a try  RkLu

I added one of Mark's brass trumpets to the photo, I think they go great together ;)

That wing and trumpet look real good.  I like the leather rap on the wing.  Mark did a nice job for you on those! *up*

Sorry about all that tape , Shad . I've seen enough film footage from some news clips to know that a lot of this stuff gets handled rough .

I was comparing your wing to mine  , which has a few years on it and the quills are not nearly as big as the ones in yours .Your wing makes so much better sound than mine . So , I'm still able to learn in spite of my ole age .

 Thanks gentlemen for your comments.

Mark,
The wing is a thing of beauty (my wife may not agree...)  ;D
The sound this puts out blew my mind, I didn't think it would be that loud. I took it outside last night in the snow, wind, & freezing rain just to see. My neighbor was in his backyard about 35 yards away and came around front to see what was flapping. He thought maybe a hawk or owl had caught something in front of his house.  RkLu

Just giving you crap about the tape  *cheers* It makes a nice storage box too
