We've had comcast for the past 5 years. In the last 2 months we've had problem after problem- days without internet or days with partial internet. The partial days were more frustrating honestly- it would connect and be on for 1 or 2 minutes then crash and cycle back again and repeat....... >!!  *aah*

Well, today was the last straw! The wife and I headed down to Verizon to check out the mobile hotspots. We had our minds made up to get one but the sales guy told us about the latest promotion using a mobile for internet. I was intrigued..... He pulled out a Palm PixiPlus and fired it up- this little phone turned into a mobile hotspot for 5 devices at the swipe of a finger  *up* This thing is way cool and I can take it anywhere my phone works. Man it's nice to have internet that works again!  Best thing, it's only $25 per month  :o which is $50 less per month than I paid for comcast  RkLu

I have used Sprint for years. No issues. Now if I can only get 4G.

Since I live 40 miles from civilization, I have to use Hughesnet. It is absolutely terrible, and I would not recommend it to anyone. I would like to try the route you went Shad, but I do not get cell phone reception at my house.

Check into wave2net.  If you have any micro wave towers in your area, they beam their signal off of them.

 Clint, I can relate to what your sayin' friend! I had hughesnet for about 4 years. Just a step above dialup IMO.! I'm like you, I live out in the middle of nowhere and don't have many options. I have IGO now, and when it is working, it's much better than hughesnet. Problem is it runs from solar power and no sun, no internet!  ROTFLMBO They're checking into getting power ran to the top of the mountain. If that works out, it will be very good internet. I'm hoping!

The cell phone is where the Net will be in a few more years :)  It's about the only logical way to get access to almost everyone.  The power companies do not want to use their power lines for Net access.  That was our best option.

I'd go crazy without a good Net connection!
