a salvaged Heart Poplar and Osage longbox
« on: January 29, 2011, 01:21:56 PM »
here is one I have been playing with.....any more time and it just may stay here. I found me a wood the I think I really like that "PORTER" wood(osage) on......this one will flat out get loud and nasty and also will get down right soft and sweet on the other hand. Had 3 different lids I was trying to figure out which one I liked best on it and saw this osage tossed aside because of the end grain direction. Its going sideways instead of up and down. Screwed it on and  :o...there was not doubt what lid it really wanted. This one will go out Monday I expect---as long as I dont tinker with it and ruin it in the meantime. The wood was sent to me to use on this call. It is salvaged (slightly wormy) heart poplar from the ole Bluegrass state. Hope you enjoy it !!!!

Not sure how you hold down a full time job and turn out so many calls. A real beauty that I know will scream turkey.
