Who makes the best ones you think.  I hear a lot about Freud.

Jason, My experience has been that you get what you pay for in blades..if you are going to be cutting a lot of wood, get the best.  It will cut cleaner,last longer, and put less wear and tear on  your saw. A dull,cheap blade probably accounts for more saw malfunctions and injuries than any other factor. That is my opinion

Jason Amana is a great blade at a fair price, this one is a good multipurpose http://www.amanatool.com/circular-saw-blades/prestige-pr1040.html They also sell many others. They are THE NAME in saw blades. If you are looking for a thin Kerf blade the one that Richard Helsby uses is a very good blade. Call or PM him!

I use basically 2 blades a freud thin kerf for ripping, and a freud glue line for cutting the side angles, and laminating joints. Both are awesome trouble free blades!

Same here, have used Freud or Amana blades mostly for general carpentry as well as in the shop, easy to find in most lumber yards, home depot, etc.  http://www.mcfeelys.com/product/DIABLO-FINE/freudreg-Diablo-Fine-Finish-Blades.
Thin kerf blades put less strain on the motor which helps if you are running portable 15 amp or so conractor type saws, you can get away with a sturdier blade on Cabinet type saws with more horsepower. Keep a sharp blade on the saw and always, always use a push stick if at all possible. If you notice a blade burning the material, adjust the fence slightly more open in the back to keep it from binding and never let go of a piece while it is between the balde and the fence. Always stand off to the side so the piece you are ripping is not in line with your stomach, trust me, that can hurt. Just some tips from 40+ years doing carpentry work

Freud!  This in the blade I use, but there are others very good--the old adage applies--you get what you pay for, but equally important it is how you use it and care for it that matters.  Follow Dave's tips for safety at all times!  You usually only get one chance to make mistake.

I have a freud and it's ok,but the best blade I have ever used is a Oldham 50 tooth planer combo blade.trouble is I don't know if the make em anymore *cry*

Freud is good. Forest is incredible but you will pay for it. I have Milwaukee sliding compound miter saw with a Forest chopmaster. Sandpaper is not needed.

I believe diablo and Freud are pretty much the same. I bought a diablo 60 tooth fine finish and it cuts hardwood blocks for box calls like butter and needs very little sanding after. My package the blade came in says made by Freud. Easy to get at Home Depot also.
