Unstoppable ! Great gun . I carry the Glock 36 for concealed protection . Both of my teenage daughters can disassemble and reassemble a Glock in under a minute. I have them do this in front of their boyfriends at least once , so they get the idea that these girls can take care of themselves , LOL !!!!

We carry a Sig and I love it, My back up weapon is a Glock model 33   same caliber as my sig (.357) I wear it on my ankle and you dont know its there, You cant go wrong with a Glock, Its a great gun. I would look at the model 33, the ballistics on the .357 sig round are impressive..

Great gun but as Tim says the Sig is my choice!

Don't buy a 9mm!!!!!!! Your chances of clean disabling hit or kill are drastically reduced when using this round. If you insist on a 9 learn and utilize the triple tap. Which is 2 center mass and the 3rd to the head triangle. This third shot short circuits the the medulla oblongata. Thus giving you an instantaneous kill. Live by it or you will die with a 9 in your hand!

Charlie you and me both :)  Nothing says leave me alone like a 1911...  plus don't know many people who want to get knocked down by a 45...

Know several that carry Glocks and they love them.

I use a glock 27 for concealed. Love it. I also use the pierce mag extensions to wrap pinky around.

That is why I carry the Glock 36, it is  a .45 caliber weapon. Have you ever watched the live cop shows and seen a crack dealer being questioned while  he has multiple 9mm shots in his body ? They leave such a small hole , with no major tissue damage that they often don't bleed much . I want a weapon that knocks 'em down . I use personal defense ammo in .45 , that's gonna leave a mark !  *lol* Given enough room to carry , I choose 12 ga. ! Noone walks away from a 12 ga. !!!!  *lol*

There are a lot of people who don't like the 9 m/m, but it has been a main stay for military and governments around the world for a long long time. The biggest reason is because it is a managable round. Personally, I carry the .45 acp I just wish there was someone out there that offered it in a staggered magazine! I have tried the Para and just don't like its accuracy. My carry is a Wilson in .45 w/ a Rohbar 9 m/m as back up. If you can't stomach the Sig price tag, get the Glock. If you are looking for a easily concealed piece, check out the Kahr line. They have a really nice compact .45 that carries very nicely!

Go with the Glock, the only one I ever shot was a nice shooting gun. I dont know why, but for some unknown reason I cant stand them. Really cant tell you why either. Like I said, the one I shot shot very well.
As far as the 9mm, I carry one all the time. Its all about shot placement. My department led the country in killing criminals in 2006, all with a 9mm Beretta
Fortunately, now we all carry the S&W 40

This used to be a possible reality , however is no longer an issue due to some recent evolution in ammo. They are making ammo for them now with better over all bullet performance & powder burns creating impressive and devastating performance rounds.  Don't count the ol'9mm out anymore.  You can achieve performance matching the 40's.  Besides most any center mass wound is disabling enough for at least an escape or deterant from a self defence perspective.
