Recent calls Going out, Last of 2010.
« on: January 07, 2011, 06:44:17 AM »
Here are the last trumpets made for 2010.
They are the final calls of the first 10 Trumpets made.
Osage, Mac Ebony, Olivewood, and Jobillo.

Hope the New Owners Like them, Good Hunting.

Sweet, likin' that jobilla, never heard of such, but it sure does have a sheen.

Hard as a ROCK that Jobillo is, and Heavy and Dense.
I had to re-do, that Trumpet of Jobillo, twice, to get her to play like the others. Must be the wood's tonal quality. I made it like I normally do, and it was VERY High Pitched. I took 1/8 off the Length of the mouthpiece, not enough.
1/4", was JUZ ryte.
I had to break, two mouthpieces, to get this back apart, and redrill the mouthpiece hole back out both times.NOT, an easy thing to do.
It is such a nice Grain, I did not want it to beat me.
Took me two almost three days messing with that lil Gal to get her Speach Impedement worked out.  ;D

You will notice it is shorter than the others. She is a Great Player Now, and ready for the Field of Dream's, of your Choice of course.

The Olive wood caller, has been modified as well, to promote a naturally deeper tone while being played.

Some may say, a Fall call, but with the Olive wood being so Oily, she ran a bit deeper anyway, but the internals are different in the Olive caller, than the Others.

I have turned several trumpets now, and lean, and stay true to the Ebony's, they just have a richer, more Natural Tone to them.
While playing the one's I have made from different woods, the ebonys stand out in TONE, they all sound about the same, but the TONE, is RICHER, in the Ebony callers. If that makes sense.

None of the callers pictured, have the finish on them yet, I do not do that, until just before mailing, and after a day er Two of playing them to pass the test of my name going on them.

Thanks for the words fellas, they are well appreciated.

To the Fellas from the Sunny Side, that so Kindly called and e-mailed me, and gave there Condolences on my Banning here on Osage,  ;D,  I was not banned fellas, just cleaning house a bit.
