 Jim's Dad passed away at the early age of 43 and two years later his Mom re-married to Walter Winterbottom. Jim was only 17 at the time and Walter took on the role of Step-father to Jim and his 2 brothers. Walter considered them all to be his sons and all of the grandchildren born onto the family came during the time Walter was married to Thela. He considered each one of them to be HIS grandchildren as well. They all looked at Walter as Dad and Granddad. Hope that clears it up for ya !
