Well....I got a request from Bill to try him a Do Dat copied after Neils little calls. I got some help from him as far as measurements go to get me started. Never attempted a mini paddle of any kind and warned him of that

. He got me the imfo and I dug into it.
Because of what he wanted and in the past a all Walnut call can be rather hard and a hair pulling experience to tune....so I cut out 3 bodies from my wood. I decided I would build one and see if there was any major changes I had to make to force it to work. I stayed with this one and after cutting 3 different lids---it settled in on lid material cut from the same wood the box is made of.
The next decesion was to bombard it with my new woodburner or keep it clean and simple. Well...he is what I decided.
The call is nasty raspy with a real easy good roll over-not a hard break. It has just deep enough on the back end to let out some real nice clucks and purrs. It has sound from front to rear on both soundboards and will actually call soft. It turned out a good one all around. It has plenty of rasp in it all over.
I will send it soon Bill, still got a little tinkering I want to do to make sure its all it can be for you man.
Thanks for the education on a all Walnut Do-Dat !!
Sorry for the pics---took them indoors---its raining here today.
