A friend of mine , the one who had the earplug idea, showed me what type of sound to shoot for on my boxes, he really is a smart and good friend. I really don't know too much about the technical aspect of call making, such as the 3 note sound you were talking about. I sure would like to learn more about call making. Actually, it was his grandson that I designed the first shorty for, except a little smaller, so he could hold it in his small hands. I was surprised at the sound, so I made it a little bigger. It has been my best seller ever sense. As for the decorative box, I am glad you like it. That wood really makes the call, it is so gorgeous. As for the sound, I didn't want to push the tuning too far, because I have ruined several nice boxes by trying to push the tuning too far, to get a sound I wanted.
