Kenny, Just drop it. It was not so long ago, Mr. Cox was on yer Arse for a COPY of his design, lest we forget. Then again, all trumpets on earth, came from him, Right ??

It is quite apparent what you are doing here, a blind man that cant read can even see it.

I will, and shall continue to make these calls, in whatever design I choose. I never read in a book, they all had to be the same anyway.

If ya dont like me tooting, turn the page, that easy. I DO NOT PUT UP SOUNDFILES. I do not need to impress you, or anyone else. The Turkeys will die in the field using these calls. Thats all the Kudo's, I need.

If I did put a soundfile up, it would be more than a few Yelps, from 30 yrds away, It would be a series of calls, as if one was in the woods, but i will not.

The hunters can do the talking, as time goes by. Have a Nice Day Kenny, it'z all good..Spurt, you guys, bet ya a dime to a dollar, ya wont say that in front of me, Yeah, doubt that.

This is the drama factor I have mentioned, and is what is ruining the Forums. I try to be cool, and get people like you.

These calls are priced at $160.00 shipped. A bit more for Ivory. I can be reached here, or on CCO,  just leave a PM for me, and I will get one built for you, well appreciated, Jeff.

Dang Spur, You wanted to by my call before you started making trumpet calls....and you told me 138.00 was crazy.... Why did you want my call Spur.... :-\

Quote from Southern Spur...
I charge what I do, out of respect for those that came before., The price of Proven Trumpet Makers Price's, and the price of a good Quality Box call. They will go up, and they will be hunted.

 Hi guys ,
Sorry to butt in on your disagreement , but I have to ask why you are charging so much and saying it's out of respect for past callmakers and the price of proven trumpetmakers prices.  The way I see it , the proven callmakers are the ones that should charge that price, not someone who is still in their learning curve. How does that show respect for someone... to charge what they charge because they have earned the reputation. Sorry that doesn't make sense. I can't charge as much as Neil Cost did , out of respect for him and the prices he set !!!
And I wonder why you guys are so worked up about trumpets, after all fellas , they are all different versions of Tom Turpins original. Or did everyone forget who invented this call ???  In my personal opinion, the hump on this new trumpet looks a little bit like Steve Turpins Genie Bottle Trumpet. Just go to Turpincustomgamecalls and take a look. Steve Turpins calls are proven winners and that call sells for about $85.00  . I have some excellent trumpets by some real masters , that didn't cost as much as you are asking. Most were alot less.
I don't mean any disrespect for you or your calls, I am just a little confused by your pricing and reasoning behind it . And the WHOLE trumpet controversy ! ????     Thanks for listening !  Keep up the good work Spur !

My friend you are clueless............

Jeff, You are right.....I was rude for pointing out the fact that you are constantly tooting your own horn.....its your horn.... and by God if you want to toot your horn it's your  business and not mine.........I'm done, and all this should not have happened... ;D

This thread has been interesting for sure.  I learnt that if I don't make anything, I'm not allowed to comment, or complain about the price of it....

I guess next time Ford wants to charge me $50, 000 for a truck, I better just suck it up...

Spur, I go back and look at many of the other trumpet makers" posts and yours seem to instigate a minimum 30 more replies than all the others...Don't know what you are doing different but seems to be a great marketing strategy ;D
