I don't spend much time just foolin'  aimlessly around in the shop..but sometimes I just get sidetracked..I cut this piece of plum wood a little while back and was dismayed to find that it had a bad place in it that didn't show from the outside..but I went ahead and made the caller anyway just to see how it would turn out. Seemed like a good idea at the time ROTFLMBO
 when you make bows out of crooked and knotty wood they are termed "character bows"...so I guess I could call this a "Character Caller"
The pictures show the extent of the flaw in the wood..I worked around it while trying at the same time to incorporate it into the caller body..it actually turned  out pretty good as a caller and has decent sound.

You know I would :)  It appears to have one of my favorite paddle woods on it!!!

Is that from the Plum I sent?  :(

Love the looks of that caller. It's nice to get one done using the wood flaws and have it turn out as a caller and not fire starter. Porter never mind you have enough of these.  *lol*  Bill

I like it Charlie!  Something about one of the pictured views  (bottom pics) reminded me of a picture of a call shown in  "Magic with Wood". Neil had a shop call called his survival caller, inscribed it "Burn Baby Burn,tuned as an extra raspy call for both Spring and Fall, rated 3800 BTU"  I think I would put a similar rating on it, tuned extra knotty, (or naughty),lol, and stuff it in the turkey vest!!  *cool*
