Now that's a (FAKE) snake! ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO I saw the posting and it's SUPPOSED to be 14'9" and 100lbs.

No respect should be given to a man who does not honor his word. He is just an adolescent who's acorns haven't dropped yet.

We had a crew from Kansas down plowing in fiber this year. They killed a timber rattler that was 54" long. They wanted to take a picture, so they picked him up with a rake and held him towards the camara. They downloaded and printed a picture and gave it to a co-worker. We put it up in the office. Everyone that came in, their jaw would drop down wanting to know where that "Monster" was killed. ROTFLMBO Because Mike (guy holding the snake) was about 6 foot tall. That snake looked every inch of 12'. We got lots of laughs. ROTFLMBO
However, it doesn't matter if he is 1' or 14'9, he is just as deadly.
It sure takes the wind out of your sails when you kill one while hunting.

If I were in that pic the snake would look much much bigger than that.  Reason being that I would be about 50 yards back further from it!!!  *aah* *aah* *aah*  *lol*

where are you from, california???      not being a poster on said blog, does this fella also believe that fishing is inhumane?  what about trees, is he for or against cutting them down?  here is a little about the blog you pulled from (typical tree-hugger BS)-

About This Blog
The title of this blog, Living Alongside Wildlife, is a reference to a land ethic suggesting human and wildlife populations can coexist if we respect our natural resources.  Our goals should include living alongside wildlife in perpetuity, rather than unsustainable exploitation and wanton killing of these animals.  For more about conservation and land ethics, check out the work of Aldo Leopold.

Many of my blogs run in local newspapers as a monthly column.  If you feel my writing would be appropriate for your newspaper, I encourage you to contact me.

Goals

When I created this blog I had two primary goals.  The first of which was to encourage an appreciation for wildlife that tend to have a bad reputation, primarily amphibians and reptiles.  The second goal was to make my research accessible to a general audience.  Over time, a third goal manifested itself.  Many are generally unfamiliar with the natural history of reptiles; as a result there are a plethora of e-mail forwards containing outlandish stories and photos of these animals.  All too often, these e-mails are circulated and accepted as fact.  For animals that are already maligned, scary and fabricated stories only serve to perpetuate the myth they are dangerous and malevolent. Perhaps this is no more true than in the case of the giant dead rattlesnakes, wherein a dead rattlesnake is shoved towards the camera and a bogus story is made up about how various townsfolk were saved in the nick of time by the marauding monster.  I use this blog to discuss these e-mail forwards, which I'm often able to debunk based solely on the biology of the organism in question.

I'm very interested in writing blogs that address reader questions or concerns about wildlife.  I encourage you to contact me with your comments.  Please also forward along any e-mail forwards you feel may contain questionable information about reptiles.  I'd be happy to address the e-mail in a future blog.  I can be reached at LivingAlongsideWildlife@gmail.com.

Comments

I welcome civil discussion and debate on the comment threads of any of my blog posts.  However, comments containing vulgarity or personal insults will be deleted without notice.

Take a chill pill BRO, I am from California so what difference does that make? Did I say I was a member of said site? I just posted several links to several different versions of the Fake Snake. It sure seems strange when someone takes, kills or finds such large snakes and other animals you Never see a tape measure along side of it. ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO.

I read the article in the Sylvania paper. I can't believe this snake was 7 foot long. Compared to the man's forearm and wrist that are at least 3 1/2 to 4 feet back.
