Last week, Ray and I made a trip to McGraw New York to Mike Joyner's beautiful log cabin to attend the "Back Porch" event. It was a great priviledge to meet Mike and Lee, and some of the folks on the forums I have corresponded with over the years in person Lou, Big Tom, Skip Perry, Terry D, Gary C, Kevin R, here is a link to some pictures Mike took http://www.customcalls.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1272549261
It was a perfect day and I really enjoyed the time spent there, good conversation, good food, (lots of good food!

) and a few calls came home with me. Right after we left, a nice longbeard flew up into a tree to roost right by Mike's cabin, a fitting end to a great day, wish we had still been there to see it!
Here are some of the calls that found there way into my box.
This call was one made by Kevin (Buffalo Gobbler), a neat little deer call, very unique.

Here is a wingbone made by Skip, with the Kokopelli figure, nice player

Another of Skip's creations, this call plays wonderfully!

Big Tom presented me with these special gifts, a very nice playing scratch box, awesome sound!
He also presented me with the feather. I don't know if Big Tom knew what this feather would mean to me. Normally this feather is only presented to a warrior for showing exceptional courage and bravery, and given as a rite of passage on the warrior's spiritual journey to mark a milestone. All I can say is it was received with humility, and my deepest appreciation, a great honor, Thanks Big Tom!
