Courtney's Wing Bone
« on: August 08, 2010, 05:48:20 PM »
Back in the Spring of 2007, my daughter Courtney killed her first gobbler, she was 11. She helped call in this bird and killed him with a Savage 20 guage double-barrel. This bird had 1-1/4" spurs, a 10-1/2" pencil beard, and was 17lbs (a good typical pure Osceolla).
I had given Jeff (Southern Spur) the wing bones out of that bird, and this is what he came up with. He's had this one finished for a while now, but I just got my hands on it.
This is a killer sounding wing bone, very easy to play.
Thanks again Jeff from Courtney and me.
Timbo.

That's awesome!   Congrats to Courtney on her first bird and a very nice keepsake from it.  Nice job on the bones Spur.

Nice story. No better way to commemorate a first kill than with a wingbone from the bird. Congrats Courtney!
