Here is an easy way to remove ticks.

Swab eucalyptus oil on the tick (you can get from drug store) and soon you will see him start to turn around and around. He will then pull his head out.
This way you don't pull his head off to later become infected.

Never tried that, but will have to next time.  Ever since I switched to using Permethrin, my tick days are far and few between!

good tip havnt tried that one...if they wer bad i usually take a hot bath with bout a quart of bleach in it they just pop right off....the other trick i use is..i carry one of those lint rollers with the tear off sticky paper...when deer huntin i roll my self when i get to the stand and then back to the truck...you would be surprised how many of them lil buggers you get on that thing...

Never, place anything on a tick. Heat, spray, oil, NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!! These all cause the tick to regurgitate thus inducing disease into the body. A good pair of tweezers is the best thing to remove an embedded tick.

Prevention is the best medicine! Down here deer hunters have used Avon's Skin So Soft for years....works great for gnats also.

That stuff works great on your hummingbird feeder also to keep the yellow jackets and ants away
