Turkey slayer challenged me to build for him an 8" long Gibson style caller. He wanted one small enough to fit in his vest for hunting. As far as my research tells me, this is the first mini Gibson call that I know of ! I am calling it the "LITTLE HENRY " in honor of Henry C. Gibson, the inventor of the first patented turkey call. I built this one out of mineral stained butternut I got from Peck Martin from McMechen W.V. I inlayed some bloodwood in the sides for accent. The lid is made of antique black walnut originally intended to be used for gunstocks by Remington Arms co. I added decorative banding to the lid. This call has a great sound , reaching the high notes and ending with a raspy rollover. Ralph, I hope you enjoy this call as much as I enjoyed creating it. I like this call so much that I have decided to add it to my list of mini calls that I build. I am already building a few more like this one so if you are interested in getting a "Little Henry" for yourself, just let me know and I will gladly build one for you . These calls sell for $65.00 plus shipping. Thanks for looking and thanks to turkey slayer for putting me up to the challenge !!
