Well I got out of work at 7:30 AM on may 20th. My buddy was on his week of vacation and i met up with him. we hadnt heard anything. the birds were very quiet all week.

The best advice ive gotten on turkey hunting is "Act like a turkey and you will kill turkeys". We took that advice and called softly and waited patiently. we were hunting back towards the house. I was nodding off since i had been up for quite a while.

We sat at a tree at 11 AM. I trumpet yelped a few times.My buddy waited a few minutes and yelped on a mouth call.GOBBLE!! I was awake now!! He yelped 3 more times and GOBBLE!!!! closer this time.

I shot him at 11:05  ;D.

9 inch beard and spurs look to be about 3/4 or a little more. i never did measure them.

Dylan, Congrats on that fine gobbler.  That bird sure looks heavy!
Only 152 more days (as of 6/1/10) until PA fall turkey season but who is counting ROTFLMBO
