Help with Snake Boots/Chaps

I have had several snake boots. Redhead(Bass Pro),Rocky and Danners. Rocky's were the worst of them. I would not buy another pair of their snake boots again but have several of their other boots and like them a lot.The Redheads I have had for 6 years wore them for all hunting like them a lot but they are not 100% waterproof as they claim.The Danners are the highest price but well worth the $70 extra dollars to get them.If you keep an eye on Ebay there is a guy who sells them at a good price you can get them for only a few more dollars then the other boots

Everyone's comments are pretty much right on...a great alternative is Russell Moccassin custom snakeboots...I don't wear them so much for snake protection...they are light...comfortable...offer some tick protection...mine are 11 years old...you pay a bit more for them....$325...but they will last forever...I used to go through a pair of Rockies every 2-3 years...you can do the math. Hope this helps!

 Biggest difficulty I have w/ snake boots, is comfort. I've just about tried them all over the years and two stand out for me. The Russells' and the Muck boot. Not sure if Muck still makes their snake boot...got mine a few years ago....but out of the two, the Muck fits me the best.

I ordered a set of Russell's at the Nats a few years ago.  The break in period is awful.  I brought them for a week long hunt and was wearing sneakers instead by the end of the hunt.  Three years later and they are still as stiff as can be..
