Well many (if not all) of you know that out in Kansas Daryl and I had a blast. We both missed (luckily mine was only once...cannot speak for Mr. Daryl himself though

), but had a heck of a time. Those birds were everywhere and if not for the rains ... I'm sure we'd both tagged out even with our misses.
Well I'm not one that likes to go on a hunt and not bring back some memorabilia. When I shot, for some reason this tree jumped out in front of my pattern and well you guess it.. the bird got away. Being the friend that Daryl was, he jumped up and gave me a play by play of how the bird was running up the hill like a road runner and

as he was getting it. I guess paybacks are heck... funny part is, as we were walking across the field I was giving Daryl

about his miss and how the last time I missed I shot a tree... Porter meet Karma

Well here's what was left of that tree that gave it's life to save that beautiful Rio... I made sure this twig rested in peace (can you say bonfire)... Daryl wouldn't let me let it go without some photos...
I didn't get to see how she tasted, but bless it's heart... dummie lived for another day. With hunters like Daryl and I, Catch and Release will soon catch on!

Oh and that farmer won't need to clean out that area... I cut him a pretty good path through those thickets
