After a long weekend of high temps and Hened up Gobblers I was more then willing to except this gift. I was in the shop tuning up a Cherry over Butternut call for a fellow forum member when I heard a distant gobble. I quickly through on a camo shirt and face mask, grabed me gun and headed for the woods. I got set up behind a hemlock and made a couple of yelps on the call I was just tuning. The bird gobbled back closer so I put the call down and waited. Fifteen minutes later he was standing 40 yards away strutting his stuff. I couldn't move because my set up was not the best so I waited 15 more minutes for him to close the distance. He didn't want to come any closer probly because I've called him up to the house twice before the season while I was in the shop tuning calls. When he started to leave I took the chance and droped him with a load of Federal #7's.
He weighed 16 Lbs 7 1/4" beard and 1" spurs.
