Looks like Shedua (sp). One of the hardest woods around. I have several box calls made from it.

Major league baseball needs to use this stuff as baseball bats....... They would never break this stuff. Might have to make the fields 600ft but no broken bats.  Thanks for all your kind words.

... and it's a very good soundin' pot caller to boot - great break to the yelp, & can be played either clear or raspy pendin' the amount of striker pressure applied - this caller can kill turkey birds ... RkLu RkLu
