Well where do I start...
Earlier this year I sent some Apple wood to Al to make me a potcall. Unfortunately the wood was a little punky and the pot blew up on the lathe. The kind hearted person that Al is, he made me another call out of Ambrosia Maple instead. With the rest of the Apple I had two scratchboxes made by Josh.
A few weeks ago I sent some more Apple wood to Al and Josh to use for themselves. Yesterday there's an unannounced package at my door and the return label is SS Calls. I open up the package and low and behold there's a beautiful Apple wood potcall. I was really surprised and bewildered by this. I PMd Al and he said that he and Josh both agreed to make the call for me because I wanted an Apple potcall.
Al said that they made the call for me instead of using the wood for themselves because they believed that the Apple call should be in my hands.
I am completely humbled by their gesture and kind heartedness. They truly are gifted at what they do and have a heart of gold to boot. I'm proud to call them my friends. This call will forever hold a special place in my heart and in my vest.
