Guys I have to tell a story. I've been contacting and in touch with several callmakers on this site. I figured, since I was running a forum, I need to add to my collections. Best way to do that is help the callmakers here. Ed was the first one I contacted. I'm on a budget like many of you, so I figured I'd get something different from each callmaker I am buying from. I had my mind completely made up of one of Ed's 3.5" Slate calls. They sounded really good. Then I hear him say, hey I have something in my vest I want to play for you... he said it's a 3" Aluminum. (ok Ed I'm going to be honest here) I'm thinking.. not an aluminum call I'm not real fond of them.. Man the minute Ed hit the striker on the Aluminum my ears perked up!!! Off I went on knowing that was the call I wanted. I asked him to build me one in Osage (that was not a surprise to him). He called me the other night and said he had made one with his new design and didn't like it. He played it for me and I thought it sounded really good. Then he played the hickory 3" against it and I knew the hickory was slightly better.
Well he called again today and man oh man am I ever tickled to death with that call!! It's slightly higher pitched than the hickory one, but I'm not going to complain since I like a higher pitched call:)
I am so excited to get this call in my hands! I have a bad/good feeling this call will always be with me. I've never loved the sound of Aluminum so much in my life. Ed has one mean/nasty break to his pot calls!!!
I heard the call way before I saw it and now I realize not only will it sound good, it looks good too!!!
