Headed to Kentucky
« on: April 16, 2010, 09:49:14 AM »
Well the time is finally here! Today I am headed for Ky to hunt the opening two days starting tomorrow. On Sunday night I will drive to Southern Ohio to meet up with Gregg Guthridge  to tackle some Buckeye birds starting Monday. Good luck to everyone this spring !!! Hey Lonnie ,good luck on them Buckeyes, let me know how it goes .
Bob
update...
I took a 24 lb tom yesterday afternoon in Ky. Tomorrow starts the Ohio season and Gregg and I will be there bright and early.
Bob

update.
Opening morning came in Ohio and Gregg and I were set up good on a close gobblin' tom. While Gregg was working the gobbler, a silent tom slipped in behind him and Gregg turned around and took him at 15 steps. Second morning comes and it is my turn, I was set up on a ridgetop and a silent tom ran the 100 yd dash coming to my call, only to meet up with a load of 6 shot. Two days... two toms, ads up to one great hunt. I will post pics and details as soon as I recuperate. It's been five straight days for me so far, and I am heading back down tomorrow at 3 a.m.  YAWN!!!!! *ride*

Update,

What a great trip to Ohio to hunt with my Buddy-- BoB "turkey vulture" Fulcher.  He was a great and generous host that put me right smack in the middle of the turkey woods.

Thanks again for a great time and look forward to your trip to Pa to hunt.
