I took this call out to play for Lou this afternoon, and noticed this Ebony has some color I didn't even notice yesterday. It is Mun Ebony and I am assuming it is some type of mineral stain, it is absolutely gorgeous! I am curious if anyone else has ever seen this in any of the Ebony they have worked with, or if this is something extremely rare? I thought at first it might have been a chemical reaction related to my finish, but haven't noticed it on any of the other Mun Ebony I have used in my calls. It was a little difficult to capture the color accurately. Dave

The wood always has something to say. Very cool, would be nice to duplicate that effect.

Looks like maybe the same effect as the ambrosia beetle has on maple.  I see a worm hole in the paddle.. That's cool lookin' for sure!!  *up*

Normally, I am not a big fan of mun ebony, but that piece is strikingly beautiful

Thats Sweet!!! Just my 2 cents..I wonder if sunlight could have changed it. Ive noticed some wood changing with oxidation from UV light. Purple Heart is known for it to give a good deep Purple. Im might be wrong,but just a thought. Who knows...But certainly a beautiful piece of wood. RkLu
