Lamar called me last week 3 years and 1 day after ordering my shortbox from him to tell me it was ready! I should have it sometime early next week. I will post pics when it comes. To say I'm excited would be an understatement. I also ordered a paddle call at the same time but that won't be ready until October. Good things come to those who wait. LOL Anyway, the shortbox is Walnut over Butternut. PS. I got right back on the list for another.

Thanks guys, I met Lamar in Atlanta in 07' and he is, indeed, a class act for sure. I'm honored to receive a call from him. Hey Lou, I drug my feet for a long time regarding getting on Niles list. I tried in Nashville this year but he said he wasn't taking any more orders.    I'm just gonna have to try and win one at the NWTF next year if he has any entries again.

Almost forgot, thanks again Mr. Henkel for letting me run your Watkins Mullberry and Kwila box in front of your booth. I was the "almost" bald ugly guy. Marlin asked you to let me play the call. Great call for sure.

I'd be looking on the secondary market for one of Niles's..........he was seriously contemplating not entering the competition next year. Occasionally you will se one on eBay.

Congrats John. I have a few of ole Lamars calls and they are flat out worth the wait. You will never meet a better man either. He make some flat out fine shortboxes and some longboxes that demand a turkeys attention. You will love it I assure ya man.
