There's alot of new fangled gadgets out there that people use that I don't agree with, but if people want to spend the money on them then let them. To me they take away from the hunt, but people just don't know any better. It's kind of like I listen to country and you won't find me within ear shot of rap music!! To each there own!!

Wait till you get older k...  I've been there and hurt my back.  It's not fun and I'm not about to give up enjoying the outdoors.  If that means using camo to help conceal me, I'll do it.  It's all about enjoying the outdoors for me.  It's 10x better than sitting at home and watching TV or playing games.  Fresh air has helped me more than it's hurt me. 

Carried a bird out one fall after shooting it with my bow.  I could barely walk and I really wondered how I was going to get out of there.  I was sitting down and couldn't pull my bow back.  Had to stand up to shoot the bird... 

I literally have to watch what I pick up.  Thanks to a very stupid moment when I was younger (@21) and thought I was bullet proof.  I've paid for that mistake ever since!

bad backs are no fun.  i had a herniated disc about 18 years ago and i too had to go through about 6 months of physical therapy.  i need to do some stretching to help it out (but don't), particulary the hamstrings.  my flexibility is bad, real bad.

That gives me an idea!!! I'll design a camo pattern that looks like a pile of rocks! Have some pop up blinds made from it I'll bet I can sell a ton of them up here to the suckers in the North East!! Or I'll design one that looks like an old rusted out Ford F150 and sell them to those Southern Redneck!!


I can see it now I'll be lighting my BBQ with $100 bills!!

 2 of the farms i hunt here in TN have rock walls surounding the property linez that were built by the slaves..lotz of history in them rockz....beautiful going thru the woodz

K  I've been hunting turkey for 40+ years and have killed my fair share in jeans and flannel shirts. I perfer to find natural ground cover ie: a blow down, stone wall or clump of trees but if I need to use my "sheet of camo" I have no problem doing so. What I do have a problem with is people who are so opinionated about the way other people hunt. To each his own.

Well stated. We are all a little opinionated ,but I agree with this person. Some of the opinions given here about turkey hunting are posted in a manner that says to others; " you are not a real hunter if you don't agree with my opinion". There are as many different styles of hunting as there are different types of hunters. Try not to look down on someone else's style of hunting as long as it is legal where they hunt. If we don't all stand united ,together then we will not win the fight against the Anti's. Hunting is hunting ! I do it my way and you probably do it your way, that doesn't mean we aren't both good hunters. How many of you have read Turpin's book when he descibes wiggling a can on the end of a stick to lure in a tom  Where would this fit in with your hunting style? Point is , We must all get along in our pursuit of the wild turkey. Don't let your opinions shadow any one else's style of hunting, please. With that said, Bring on the gobbles !!

sorry...but i dont flow with the "if its legal itz ethikal"...in yer opinion iz roost shooting ethikal?...itz legal in some statez....what about hunting turkeyz with riflez?..legal in some statez...but in my opinion therez nothing ethikal about it...

i agree k, but i wouldn't put roost shooting, or taking one with a rifle, in the same category as hunting using some form of mesh material.

The more you water hunting down and the easier you make it the more ammo you are giving to the Anti's.  How do you think we are portrayed when the general public flips on the tv and sees a guy hidden in his blind, gobbler marching in oblivious to his surroundings, locked on a strutting decoy and then getting blasted after giving the decoy a good stomping for 5 minutes? I don't see it protraying it us in any sort of a positive light and I have no problem voicing that.
